Silica Gel Packets for
Keeping Tools Rust-free, You Hungry

October 23rd, 2009

You know those little packets that you find inside pairs of new shoes? The ones that say, “Silica Gel – Do Not Eat”, as if you were to eat something you found in a shoe! Well those things are useful. Silica gel absorbs moisture, so toss a bunch in a toolbox or anywhere moisture can cause problems. They won’t stay absorbent forever, but a little time in the sun will dry them out, ready for reuse. If you need a lot of them in a rush, they sell for cheap on eBay. Yummy.
